After launching the iPhone 16, now Apple unveiled the iPad mini on Oct 15, Tuesday, with AI features to keep pace with evolving tech trends. The new iPad Mini, powered by Apple’s A17 Bionic CPU, offers notable performance and efficiency gains. It would increase CPU performance by 30% and GPU efficiency by 25% compared to the iPad minis of the current generation.

Apple Intelligence, deeply embedded in iPadOS 18, employs Apple’s silicon and generative models to grasp and produce words and graphics, navigate among apps, and leverage user context to speed up and simplify daily tasks.

The iPad Mini now uses artificial intelligence to perform real-time focus, lighting, and exposure adjustments automatically. This allows users to record higher-quality photographs and videos even in low light.

Apple’s artificial intelligence improves video recording by providing real-time editing recommendations, allowing customers to capture high-quality film while on the go.

Users may now create movies to view in Photos simply by entering a description into the Memories feature. Further, the Clean Up tool removes things from the background of your images.

This month, Apple announced the release of iPadOS 18.1, a software update that will include the first set of AI features in English in the United States. It will be available for iPads with A17 Pro or M1 and later.

Apple said,

“Additional Apple Intelligence features will be rolling out over the next several months, such as image-generation tools, Genmoji, image wands, improved Siri, and ChatGPT.”

Furthermore, the iPad Mini’s connectivity has been enhanced with 5G support, which accelerates content downloads, streaming, and browsing.

The Apple Pencil Pro also made an update and can now sense a user’s squeeze, enabling users to swiftly switch between line weights, tools, and colors without disturbing their creativity.

Furthermore, the iPad mini is compatible with the reasonably priced Apple Pencil (USB-C), which is ideal for sketching, taking notes, journaling, annotating, and more.

Apple made it clear that the iPad is available for preorder from Oct 15, 2024, with a starting price of $499 but will reach customers and stores from Oct 23, 2024.

The increasing shift in AI is allowing big companies and names to make efforts for AI research. Following this, Sam Altman also welcomes Sebastien Bubeck, Microsoft’s Vice President of GenAI Research.
